Chatham and Aylesford
Constituency profile
This remains a marginal seat.
There is still considerable Tory support, especially in the Aylesford area, and the Conservatives are the controlling party on both local authorities.
The big question is whether the political tidal wave which flowed up the Medway in 1997 is a permanent climate change.
The Conservatives would have to take this seat to have any chance of returning to Government.
