Isle of Wight
Constituency profile
Islanders seem to place great personal store in what their representative does for them, rather than in party loyalties.
This being so, it would appear that the future of this seat is very much in the hands of the current MP.
The Island is faced with a difficult economic situation and a disproportionately ageing population - if the MP can provide solutions, keep the falling figures in unemployment falling, then re-election should be within his reach.
Failure to do so will open the door to a Liberal Democrat revival.
