This is a very marginal seat which may well return to the Conservatives at the next general election with anything less than 2001 levels of Labour support.

The Conservatives will certainly be hoping to start the revival of their parliamentary fortunes in the principality here in 2005 to 2006 and will be encouraged by their performance at the local elections in 2004.
