Redcar
Constituency profile
This seat will continue to vote for whoever wears the red rosette for the foreseeable future.
The Tories have not been wiped out here as they have in a number of comparable seats, but protest votes have been tending to go to the Liberal Democrats or independents, a trend exemplified by the victory of independents in the mayoral elections in nearby Middlesbrough and Hartlepool.
On paper, Labour would have to lose 286 other seats before they lost this one.
