Constituency profile

Once a Conservative constituency, this seat, which is one of the more affluent in Wales, is now Labour territory and David Hanson, who is Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Prime Minister, should face no difficulties in securing his re-election when voters next go to the polls.

Delyn will be a target for the Tories in the future but it looks to be a bridge too far at the general election.

Sandra Mewies will be hoping for a good second term for Labour in Cardiff Bay to hold her seat in 2007.
