Macclesfield
Constituency profile
Macclesfield is a seat that the Conservatives would find difficult to lose; and the chances are that they will not be able to lose it in the near future despite their best efforts.
Labour would require an additional 7.9 per cent swing to gain this seat. However, if Sir Nicholas, the archetypal 'constituency MP', were ever to step down, it would be interesting to see just how well the Tory vote held up without his personal appeal.
