Enfield North
Constituency profile
Joan Ryan’s majority has fallen by quite a considerable number of votes since she was first elected to Parliament.
With the loss of 4,000 electors in the Labour ward Ponder's End, the constituency is almost entirely Conservative at the local level (with the exception of the mixed ward of Southbury).
The next election contest is likely to be tightly fought but, given that Labour is unlikely to sustain its current national majority, this seat is a probable Conservative gain.
