The abysmal turnout of the people of Riverside showed utter dissatisfaction with their lot and with the politicians of all creeds that purport to represent them.

There are ambitious projects afoot to transform the constituency but whether it will fundamentally alter the outlook of the people here remains to be seen.

This is likely to remain a Labour stronghold for a long while.
