There is nothing to suggest at the moment that the constituency is dramatically about to change the way that it has voted at the last two general elections.

Although there was a 13 per cent drop in turnout from 1997 to 2001, almost 60 per cent of the electorate did vote; this does not suggest the imminent electoral collapse on the verge of which some constituencies are tottering.
