City of York
Constituency profile
In view of recent local government election results and the 2001 general election results, it seems that any swing from Labour will not be in favour of the Conservatives.
The Liberal Democrats have enjoyed increasing support in this constituency and can expect to do well at the next election.
With a majority of 28.7 per cent, however, the seat looks likely to remain safe for Labour.
