Constituency profile

Aldershot may not be innately Conservative, as it once was, but support for the Tories remains strong, and with Labour and the Liberal Democrats splitting the centre-left vote between them, Gerald Howarth must be the clear favourite to win this seat at the general election.

It will be interesting to see if the international situation comes into play in any significant way in this constituency, so closely associated as it is with the military.
