Blackpool North and Fleetwood
Constituency profile
Blackpool North is one of the unusual instances of a relatively poor area being traditionally Conservative.
In electing Labour’s Joan Humble, it may seem as if the Blackpool working classes have gone to their natural political home, but in reality it is the Fleetwood parts of the seat that were the major contributors to her victory.
If the Government fails to get the voters who have recently supported it out to the polling stations at the next general election, then the Conservatives may be in with a chance.
