Constituency profile

Woking is an interesting constituency, which contrasts with the other extremely affluent constituencies in Surrey.

Despite the strong performance by Labour and especially the Liberal Democrats in the last general election, it seems likely that the highly-paid commuters will continue to dominate, and thus ensure that the Conservatives retain control of the constituency.

But it is unlikely that they will ever recover the large majorities they once had, partly because highly-paid commuters can no longer be automatically assumed to vote Conservative.
