Constituency profile

The location of much of the recent residential and commercial development in Oxford East means the constituency is seeing the benefits of economic growth and investment in health and education.

While there is still a lingering sense of inferiority vis-a-vis its more prosperous neighbour, this constituency seems to be improving in a number of key areas and this should help bolster the Labour vote againts their nearest rivals, the Liberal Democrats.
