One is tempted to come to the blasé conclusion that any seat held by the Tories in their calamitous years of 1997 and 2001 is likely to be a safe Tory seat regardless of the actual majority at present.

However, it really would take an absolute meltdown of the Conservative Party before Fylde elects a member of another political party to represent it in Westminster.
