The voters here seem to have a taste for the exotic, and have certainly shown impatience with the political establishment at local level.

But the 2004 by-election seems to indicate a return to the seat's marginal history: with such a narrow victory Labour cannot be sure to keep this seat from the Liberal Democrats at this election.
