Losing this seat was a massive shock for the Conservatives.

They will have to work hard to win it back, perhaps learning from the campaign tactics used against them.

While the majority might be susceptible to a Conservative revival in the polls, statistics can be deceiving, and the Liberal Democrats will look to entrench themselves in Romsey in the years to come; but the 2003 local election results seem to imply that Tory hopes are still alive.
