Constituency profile

Hodge Hill was as safe as seats come for Labour until the by-election of 2004; however, it is now a marginal seat.

We should not expect the Liberal Democrats or Conservatives to make any further inroads at the next general election, and Labour should expect to increase their majority.

The situation at the local level is more interesting with the presence of the People's Justice Party and the British National Party, making this constituency one to watch.
