Constituency profile

An average seat in many respects, Medway is highly marginal and could easily change hands yet again.

It is one of Labour's 50 most vulnerable seats and Mark Reckless continues to be the Conservative spokesman for the constituency.

With the decision not to proceed with the airport at Cliffe now made, a hard-fought contest on more traditional general election issues seems likely.

In the longer term, all three 'Medway Town' constituencies are due to be affected by boundary changes.
