This is a key seat for the Conservatives if they are to make a full recovery.

The fact that its their 154th target is an indication of just how much work they have to do.

Recent local elections in the Dudley wards have been promising, but the Sandwell contingent remains an intractable Labour millstone around their necks.

This latter area provides an intransigent bedrock of Labour support in the seat and suggests that, for the moment at least, Sylvia Heal is quite safe.
