Blyth Valley
Constituency profile
Despite a turnout of 55.2 per cent and a swing to the Liberal Democrats of 3.2 per cent, this still looks like a rock-solid Labour seat.
Though the Liberal Democrats have controlled the council in the past, their threat to Labour is eroding and if the 2003 elections are any indication, it should be some time before Labour loses its grip on the seat.
