Brentford and Isleworth
Constituency profile
It will take a swing of 12 per cent for the Conservatives to win here.
This seems unlikely in the short to medium term, not least because of the continued economic prosperity of the area.
Labour has maintained its traditional support in working-class areas of Brentford, Hounslow and Gunnersbury.
More middle-class areas, such as Chiswick, have long been home to liberally-inclined urban professionals, and it is this group who seemed to shift decisively behind Labour in 1997.
It is the continued support of the middle-class professionals that makes this remain a safe Labour seat.
