Constituency profile

The Boundary Commission proposed to recast the seat once again, removing the western wards of Pocklington Provincial and Wolds Weighton and adding Beverley Rural and North Holderness.

The Conservatives objected, but the changes, if they had happened, would have been unlikely to make any significant political difference and it was decided that they would remain the same.

This is likely to remain a safe Conservative seat.
