Once a constituency built on coal and steel, Llanelli, the saucepan town, has diversified its economy and is involved in significant regeneration of its former industrial areas.

Its once solid support for Labour is also open to question, and though Labour should hold the seat at the next general election, Plaid Cymru could pose a threat.
