Tories unveil £750m school sports plan

| David Davis: Sports push |
The Conservatives have unveiled plans which would see children receiving two hours free sports tuition every week.
In a bid to boost public health and combat the child obesity epidemic, the Tories will put £250 million a year in to the initiative.
Some £750 million of Big Lottery Funding would be ploughed into the Club2School over a three year period.
The cash will be awarded on the basis of the number of children participating in sports training.
Shadow home secretary David Davis said: "Under Labour more than five million of our children are being denied their right to adequate sporting opportunity.
"We have the fastest growing rate of obesity in the developed world.
"Our plans will empower those volunteers in local sports clubs to provide our children and young people with varied and quality
sporting experiences."
Tory sports spokesman Lord Moynihan went on to say: "We aim to shift the emphasis on after-school sport provision away from our over-stretched teachers and schools directly into the 151,000 sports clubs in the UK."
