PM meets Indian counterpart
Downing Street

Tony Blair has met his Indian counterpart, Manmohan Singh, for talks in London.

Trade and commerce were thought to top the bilateral Downing Street discussions between the two leaders on Monday.

Talks also focussed on India's relations with Pakistan and the on-going tension over the Kashmir region.

Britain has played a pivotal role in reducing tensions between the two nations.

Blair was also expected to discuss global warming and the need for a concerted effort to tackle global terrorism.

The talks come ahead of UN negotiations between India and Pakistan over the future of the disputed Kashmiri territory.
