Tories confirm Central Office move

The Conservative Party has confirmed it is leaving its Smith Square headquarters.

Party co-chairman Liam Fox confirmed on Wednesday that the party was moving to 25 Victoria Street.

But to minimise disruption the move will not take place until after June's elections.

Fox said he was "very pleased" to announce the move.

"The new building will provide the Conservative Party with modern purpose built accommodation and a superb working environment for staff to campaign and win future elections at a local, national and European levels," he added.

The new offices are currently being designed and fitted out by a consultancy.

Moving from the party's traditional Westminster location is seen as a symbolic break with the leadership that resulted in two landslide election defeats.
