Iraq
Tony Baldry voted against going to war in Iraq on 18 March 2003. As chair of the International Development Committee, Tony Baldry undertook a visit to Washington DC and New York to discuss the humanitarian consequences of conflict in Iraq. He met with the Secretary General of the UN, Kofi Anan, the President of the World Bank and IMF, US Congressmen and Senators and various UN agencies and non-governmental organisations. The International Development Committee published an extensive enquiry on the "Humanitarian consequences of war in Iraq" in March 2003.
