LOCAL MP CALLS FOR PEOPLE TO BECOME MORE ENERGY EFFICIENT

Tony Baldry backs Energy Saving Week

North Oxfordshire MP, Tony Baldry, has signed a parliamentary motion supporting Energy Saving Week, urging his constituents to try to become more energy efficient.

Energy Saving Week runs until 28th October 2007.

Tony Baldry MP, said:

“Global warming is such a widely debated issue that I welcome a week which highlights how we can be energy efficient and thus help the environment."

“Energy efficiency is a safe and clean way in which to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and I urge my constituents to try the cheap ways in which to do this."

“Cherwell District Council is already one of the top councils for recycling in the country. If people in North Oxfordshire can also become more energy efficient then we will be setting a high standard for other areas to follow in helping the environment.”
