Spink speaks out at Public Inquiry
The public Inquiry, at Runnymede Hall, into the appeal on land at Scrub Lane Hadleigh started this morning. Dr Bob Spink MP spoke on behalf of local residents, during the introductory remarks.
Bob Spink has submitted formal written objections to plans to build 13 large houses on what Spink claims is a relatively tiny site at 100 Scrub lane Hadleigh. Spink says: “This is the sort of garden land grab that is damaging many of our communities.”
During opening remarks the developer claimed that amendments to their plans were only minor. Spink challenged this saying:
“The plans are a gross over-development of the site.
“The changes will push houses nearer to Scrub Lane, exacerbating the detrimental impact of the plans in terms of their over-development and their density and bulk. The plans despoil the established street scene in that uncluttered, quiet and well established area, and do so to the serious detriment of all residents and the wider community.
I speak as the elected represent the close residents and wider community.”
The Inquiry continues with a site visit later today.
