Hodge welcomes anti-bullying campaign
Margaret Hodge MP for Barking welcomed the Government's anti-bullying campaign on Thursday 4th September 2003. The Government launched a package of measures to deal with bullying, reduce truancy and improve behaviour.
Margaret Hodge MP said:
"As Minister for Children and MP for Barking I am delighted that the Government has launched a campaign to tackle bullying.
"At my regular surgeries, I often meet children and parents distressed by bullying. No child should suffer the anguish of being bullied. The Government is committing £75 million to training and behaviour experts and £5 million to specialist curriculum material, alongside a broadcast campaign and an anti-bullying charter for schools to ensure a zero tolerance approach to bullying."
