Hodge to chair key Thames Gateway committee

Margaret Hodge, MP for Barking, has been appointed Chair of the Thames Gateway Further and Higher Education Working Group.

Mrs Hodge, who is also Minister of State for Lifelong Learning and Higher Education, is responsible for getting all the universities and further education colleges who fall in the Thames Gateway area to work in partnership together with local authorities, businesses and other training providers to raise standards across the area.

Mrs Hodge holds the meetings in her office in the Department for Education and Skills.
