Humfrey Malins CBE MP attends the launch of National Shooting Week
Humfrey Malins CBE MP joined the sports Minister Gerry Sutcliffe MP at the launch of National Shooting Week at Bisley on Tuesday 29th April. National Shooting Week takes place between 3rd and 11th May featuring 200 public open days across the whole of the UK. This is a very important year being Olympic year and a number of Beijing hopefuls were in attendance. Humfrey met Charlotte Kerwood, winner already of 3 Commonwealth gold medals and a hopeful for the 2012 Olympics and spent some time with Paralympians in the shooting range, trying his luck himself at the 10 metre pistol target, missing the target on both occasions. Said Humfrey afterwards `this was a wonderful morning meeting Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls, all of whom impressed me with their determination to make it all the way to the Olympics.
