Emily’s search for a hero

Emily Thornberry MP is on the look out for a hero in Islington South and Finsbury. She is searching for an older volunteer who has helped their community and is asking constituents to write into her and nominate people for the award.

The winner will be invited to attend a ‘Heroes Tea Party’ on the House of Commons Terrace to get their certificate and mingle with MPs and other heroes from across the country. The event is being organised with the All Party Parliamentary Group for Volunteers.

Emily said:

‘Throughout the constituency, people are giving up their time to help the community in which they live. We couldn’t do without them and their work is largely unrecognised. I am asking readers of The Gazette to help put that right.’
