Government Minister Launches Hungerford Bridge Holloway Schools Partnership

Lord Adonis, Schools Minister, launched the Hungerford Bridge Holloway Schools Partnership with Emily Thornberry MP on Friday 14th October 2005.  The scheme will invest £23 million to relocate Bridge Special School with Hungerford Primary School and Holloway Secondary School.

Lord Andrew Adonis said:

‘Emily’s constituency will look like a building site over the next few years but that is a good thing because it means better facilities for Islington children. Only a Labour Government would make investment on such a scale possible. ’

Emily Thornberry MP said:

‘I know that Andrew goes past this site every week on his way to work. I am very proud to be here with Lord Adonis to see the results of the Government’s investment in education. I am glad to see such a senior member of the Government taking an interest in Islington. The partnership will mean that primary, secondary and special needs students can study in the same space and learn from each other. A very important part of children’s education is their social education ’
