MacShane Urges Rotherham Business to Become More Active on Council Matters
Speaking after a breakfast meeting with leaders of the Rotherham Chamber of Commerce, MP Denis MacShane urged more cooperation between business and the council to help upgrade Rotherham's economic profile. "We have an award-winning council and one of the most dynamic Chambers of Commerce in Britain. Now they have to work jointly to reduce burdens on business and help move the Rotherham economy forward. The Labour government has put forward new ideas like local Business Improvement Grants and I have long supported swifter planning decisions. We all have a common interest in making Rotherham as business-friendly as possible to create jobs, generate wealth and increase the confidence of young people in the Borough."
