“Get your free eye test” MP urges pensioners
Millions of older people are failing to take advantage of free annual eye tests Bolton North East MP David Crausby warned today.
Sponsoring a House of Commons Early Day Motion, he said:
“Everyone in the UK over the age of 60 is entitled to a free NHS eye test.
“It’s important because regular eye tests can detect early signs of eye disease such as glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration.
“The Royal National Institute of Blind People has recently called for a large-scale eye health awareness campaign targeting older people. I am asking the Government to give this its full backing.
“I would urge everyone who is entitled to a free eye test to make sure they have one.”
