MP Speaks out for Littlehavens Children Hospice
15th December 2005
On Tuesday 13thDecember 2005, David Amess MP spoke out in a Westminster Hall debate on the Funding of Children’s Hospices.
The debate was tabled in time for the forthcoming Government white paper on healthcare outside hospitals, scheduled to be published ‘at the turn of the year’ following the major public consultation Your Health, Your Care, Your Say.
David, although only able to attend the debate briefly, spoke of the financially uncertain future that faces Littlehavens Hospice were it not for the charitable generosity of so many local people.
He said,
“The situation is serious. Would my hon. Friend agree that the Minister should do everything that he can to underpin the funding so that there is some certainty in future arrangements?”
