Crispin Blunt MP Unveils Updata’s New Reigate HQ

Crispin Blunt, MP for Reigate will today officially open the new Head Quarters of Updata Infrastructure Ltd, the pan-European broadband service provider situated in his constituency, reinforcing the company’s commitment to the town and to Surrey.

Broadband services are changing the way that people work, relax and communicate, and Updata is very much at the forefront of that revolution. The company has focused its efforts on the UK’s public sector, building and operating broadband networks that deliver high speed services to schools, libraries, council buildings and even to the homes of pupils themselves. Updata not only does this at up to a quarter of the cost of other broadband service providers, but it frequently goes where the more established operators fear to tread. Thanks to Updata’s efforts school children in rural Dorset, Pembrokeshire and Somerset enjoy some the most advanced broadband services in Europe.

“We established the UK business here two years ago. The company has since grown in leaps and bounds and when the time came to significantly expand our operations, we all felt it was right to remain here in Reigate,” said Vic Baldorino, Director at Updata. “Reigate is the perfect business location for us, especially with its extensive transport links”

The opening will begin at 2.30pm, and Crispin Blunt MP will be guest speaker: “I’m delighted that a such a successful and contemporary business has decided to re-invest in Reigate and Surrey. Its goal to expand will bolster employment opportunities, while the roll-out of Updata’s services will take children’s education into the next generation””
