Honorary Fellowship Awarded
* The Chartered Institute of Marketing awards Honorary Fellowship to former chairman
London - 15 November 2005 - The Chartered Institute of Marketing has awarded an Honorary Fellowship upon Dr Mike Johnston, the former chairman of The Institute. The award was presented to Mike by the current Chairman Paul Gostick, at The Institute's Annual Graduation Ceremony in Symphony Hall, Birmingham earlier this month.
"I am very grateful to have had this award conferred on me by The Chartered Institute of Marketing." commented Mike "It was an honour and a privilege to hold the position of chairman. During that period we did a great deal to raise the status of marketing within UK corporate board rooms and I'm very pleased to see that this goal remains a core ambition of The Institute."
Dr. Johnston served as the International Chairman of The Chartered Institute of Marketing between 2001 and 2003. In addition he has been actively involved in the agri-food sector at local, national and international levels through involvement in various committees and boards, and is currently Chief Executive of the Northern Ireland Dairy Council. Dr. Johnston is also a visiting Professor at the School of Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Strategy at the University of Ulster.
