Latest government concessions on the Education Bill
16th February 2006
Commenting on the Governments proposal to enable successful local authorities to bid for community schools Steve Sinnott: General Secretary of the National Union of Teachers, Europe's largest teaching Union said:
To adapt the Prime Minister’s own phrase, some progress made but a long way to go. There are signs that the Government is still shifting on its proposals to create Trust schools. But what it really needs to recognise is that its structural proposals are still conceptually flawed.
