• The Senate of Puerto Rico recognized the exemplary life of L. Ron Hubbard, “whose humanitarian and philosophical ideas deserve imitation and to be a motivation for future generations...” This resolution was passed unanimously by all Puerto Rican Senators.
  
• Brotherhood Rally of All Veterans Organization (BRAVO), a worldwide organization assisting the more than 2.5 million Vietnam veterans, presented a recognition honoring L. Ron Hubbard for his Purification Program. The award was presented jointly with the Agent Orange Foundation.
  
• The Minister of Health of Kazakhstan presented a recognition to Mr. Hubbard stating: “Mr. Hubbard’s detoxification method provides the solution to a number of problems having to do with ecological situations in the region.”
  
• The Chairman of the Department of Narcology at the Institute for Higher Qualification of Doctors in Ukraine presented a recognition to Mr. Hubbard stating: “I value very highly the contributions of L. Ron Hubbard for his development of the original method of detoxification of the human body. The applied aspects of this method deserve broad use in Ukrainian Narcology.”
  
• The Mayor of the district of Iribarren in Venezuela presented Mr. Hubbard with the prestigious “Juan Guillermo Iribarren Order” in recognition of his humanitarian contributions.
  
• The native elders of the Maoris in New Zealand presented a recognition to L. Ron Hubbard in gratitude of his technology to handle the problems of drug abuse and alcoholism in their community.
  
• The foremost Buddhist master of Taiwan, Chiang Yao, presented traditional gifts of appreciation to honor Mr. Hubbard for his technology to help man rid himself of the devastating effects of drugs.
  
• The Toronto City Council passed a resolution and presented a standing cast of the Canadian national tower in honor of L. Ron Hubbard’s humanitarian contributions.
  
• The Department of Physics at Purdue University selected L. Ron Hubbard as the 1998 yearly winner of its Einstein Outreach Award. This award is presented to people who have made a truly noteworthy impact on science education and science literacy on a global scale. Other recipients of this award include such notables as Nobel Prize laureate and Presidential Medal winner Dr. Leon Lederman and world-renowned scientist Dr. Stephen Hawkings.
