20 December 2005
GMB welcomed ASDA’s decision to re-instate sacked ASDA Yarmouth catering assistant Fran Edwards who was dismissed for having £3 in change in her pocket while on the shop floor earlier this month.
The final decision to reverse the sacking was revealed today (Tuesday 20th) following an appeal hearing last Thursday (15th December). GMB member Fran Edwards, 58, has worked as a catering assistant at the Yarmouth ASDA store for two years.
Glenn Holdom, GMB Organiser Fran Edwards said, “Fran is delighted to be asked to go back to work at the Yarmouth ASDA store. ASDA have definitely done the right thing and Fran’s family can enjoy Christmas and not have to worry about what the New Year will bring.”
