Medway Queen to Receive Dunkirk Plaque
The paddle steamer The Medway Queen will be presented with the 'Dunkirk Plaque' in honour of her part in the Dunkirk evacuation in 1940 when hundreds of thousands of British troops were rescued from the French beaches.
The plaque will be presented to the ship by Paul Kenny, GMB Acting General Secretary at

AT CHATHAM DOCKYARD
Jonathan Shaw MP will also attend together with Mary Turner, GMB National President and Keith Hazlewood GMB National Secretary for Shipbuilding and Engineering.
The presentation will be followed by a river cruise at 2 pm. The presentation party will visit the Medway Queen at Kings North at 11 am prior to the presentation ceremony.
Earlier this year the Medway Queen Preservation Society received a lottery planning grant.
