To achieve maximum impact, the DRC works in partnership and forms alliances on key issues affecting disabled people.
Everyone has a stake in the work of the DRC - our task is concerned with the whole of society. We aim for a network of stakeholder groups who have a sense of ownership of the DRC. We want to work together in partnership with these groups to create good practice and to ensure that the DRC always has fresh, evidence-based views on what the world feels like for disabled people. Within that context, there are certain groups that we have identified as key partners in our work to bring about change.
These groups are:
- disabled people
- their advocates, advisors, partners, relatives and friends and organisations of and for disabled people
- businesses, employers and service providers
- government departments, professional organisations and public and not-for-profit organisations, including trade unions and local authorities
- the media (as an important point of contact with the general public).
