BRC EXPANDS GLOBAL STANDARDS TRAINING COURSES INTO KOWLOON AND ISTANBUL
20 February 2006
The British Retail Consortium (BRC) has today announced that it will be expanding its highly regarded Global Standards training courses into Kowloon and Istanbul.
The training courses will assist both retailers and suppliers in their implementation of the internationally recognised BRC Global Standards and will provide an in-depth and practical understanding of the requirements of the Standards.
The BRC will work closely with Intertek to run a pilot scheme in the two countries in the coming months. When the pilot is completed the courses will then be extended into other cities in Hong Kong and Turkey and eventually into other countries.
BRC Trading Commercial Director, Stephen Boobyer, says: “These developing markets continue to grow in importance for UK retailers and suppliers, which is one of the key reasons for beginning the trials in these markets.
“As the international reach of the BRC Global Standards grows it is imperative that those wishing to trade with the UK comply with the industry recognised standards.”
The courses range from one to four days in length and will begin in April and May. The courses will cover a range of topics such as a summary of the BRC Standards, the Protocol, Internal Auditor skills, Reporting audits results to management and the BRC Audit concept. They will be beneficial to Quality and Technical Managers, consultants, suppliers to retailers and Certification Body Auditors.
