Teaching to learn campaign

|
In a world dominated by exams, tests, league tables, and bureaucracy, it is all too easy to forget that the primary task of teachers and lecturers is to help children and young people learn.
ATL's 'Teaching to learn campaign' aims to put learning back on the education policy agenda and to raise the profile of the debate about why learning matters and what genuine learning is. Learning is, after all, the core business of teachers, pupils and schools - yet all too often the word rarely gets a mention.
ATL members believe that learning - and learning about learning - should be a priority. We are calling for:
- an end to relentless testing
- recognition that learning is not just for meeting targets
- freedom to enthuse and inspire learners.
