A spokesman for APIL said: "APIL is very disappointed that the Coroners' Bill was not mentioned in the Queen's speech.
"A bill was promised in the draft legislative programme in July and a draft bill was published in June 2006.

"Nothing short of a radical overhaul will create an efficient, modern system, which has the civil rights of bereaved families at its centre. 

"This reform is now long overdue and APIL calls on the government to bring forward legislation a soon as possible."
