The Liberal Democrats have set out their policies to boost British businesses.

Trade and industry spokesman Malcolm Bruce detailed plans to cut red tape and lower taxes for smaller companies.

The party says it is committed to a liberal market economy in which the main role of the government is "to create the right environment in which enterprise can flourish".
