The government is understood to be close to finalising its long awaited package of measures on company directors.

A spokesman said: "We are talking to the organisations who are interested in this consultation, and we are aware of their concerns that have been put forward in the consultation document.

"As of yet no set date has been announced nor have any final decisions been taken. We are still looking at the issues raised in the consultation."
